We get loads of new products in through our warehouse on a daily basis and 90% of them are rejected, but of the 10% that do get into our product line, every once in a while there is a true gem of a product and something that really redefines the market.
Enter Amzer Full Body Silicone Skin Jelly Case. This case solves the dilemma of so many issues you have with protecting your phone I dont know where to begin:
1. It totally does away with the phrase my phone just slipped out from my hand ... yes it has really unbelievable grip!
2. You dont have to buy a separate skin case and a screen protector because its handily combined in one product now.
3. Truly like a second skin. Many, many products have claimed to be a second skin to your BlackBerry, Nokia, iPhone, etc. But this really is the second skin that youve been looking for.
4. Lightweight and non-existent ability as well as uncannily resilient.

Well, in a bit of suprising news, AT&T has cut the price of the BlackBerry Curve 8900 by $50, down to $149.99 after a mail in rebate. While likewise, the BlackBerry Bold has been cut by a whopping $100, down to only $199.99, also with a mail in rebate. While Im not surprised at all to see the Bold drop in price again, I am a bit shocked to see the 8900 fall in price by a quarter after only being on the carrier a couple of weeks.
Is this just a reactionary measure so that the better device wasnt the same price or are we going to see a new BlackBerry device on AT&T much sooner than we thought? Or worse, could this be that the devices just arent selling well? The other likely and rumored answer is that they are trying to clear inventory in light of yet another BlackBerry device hitting their shelves, but there has been nothing substantial to back that up. Either way, it seems quite a few people had to pay the early adopters tax for their BlackBerry Curve.

Starting today, if you dont mind a used phone, you can pick up the BlackBerry Bold from AT&T at the low price of... nothing. Maybe this is a sign that the Niagara will be hitting AT&T as well, but its way too early to make any predictions. AT&T did hide the product a bit though, you have to look in the Packages and Deals section, not the regular phone store section of their site for some reason, so dont be fooled. But for your convenience you can just click here instead if you are interested. You should probably strike while the iron is hot though, there is probably a fairly limited supply available.

The new OS for BlackBerry Bold, v4.6.0.414, has been released in Austria recently, but seems to work with all carrier models. What does this update do exactly? For one thing, it improves the browser experience and adds some more memory too. Check out this blackberry forum for more details. For the new Curve 8900 the update is OS 4.6.1.174 and you can upgrade by going to this site.
Note: since BlackBerry hasnt officially released these yet, you will be downloading at your own risk. If you dont want to take a chance, just wait it out and certainly RIM will push the software update to your phones shortly.

Just a week ago the Blackberry Bolt became available to Japan on the DoCoMo carrier, and just to rub it in to T-Mobile users faces, the Bold in Japan was packaged with a fourth band of 3G. But the spiteful can rejoice, because the Bold is for the moment no longer selling in the Japanese market due to overheating issues while charging. The exact nature of the problem hasnt been uncovered or released, but the overheating issue seems to thankfully be isolated to the Japanese marketplace.
The Bold seems to have had a rocky start in more than one place, but hopefully things will smooth over for the Japanese consumers quickly.

While I plan on doing a full review of the Curve 8900 soon, I thought it would be interesting to compare two of the top three BlackBerry devices the other being the Storm of course. While the Curve is more of the everyman model and the Bold being the powerful executive model, they still share a lot in common and the price difference with a good contract is not that high; still some say the Curve wins over its bigger brother.

To summarize for those who arent adept at reading specs. The 8900 has a better camera, is smaller, and has a better battery life. The Bold has more memory, better connectivity, a bit more power and a bigger screen.
In general the major factors that will make or break which phone to get are HSDPA which the Curve lacks sadly, Size the Curve is noticeably more compact, or the Camera the Curve wins by a fair bit aside from the zoom. There is already ways to extend the battery life for both, as well as the memory, so I wouldnt factor those too heavily in the memory. The bold does win a bit in that category as well though, since its card slot is much more accessible than the Curves.
Regardless, both are great devices for either work or play.

Whether it is destiny or divine intervention the BlackBerry Bold launch date just keeps getting pushed back for one reason or another. Rather than dwelling on the rumors surrounding the devices delay, we should focus in on the BlackBerry Storm that is making a fast break for the consumer via Verizon Wireless. You know this is pretty big for Verizon to get the first touch-screen BlackBerry device.
Anyway, from the looks of things the Storm is even going to have cut/copy/paste which I have been lamenting that Apple iPhone is still lacking. Now the real thing is going to be determining how all those loyal BlackBerry addicts deal without an external keypad. Look at it this way, at least the BlackBerry thumb will start getting cured right?

UK carrier Orange has stopped selling the Blackberry Bold device due to "software quality" problems. Leaked documents show that Orange has claims that the Bold is causing problems for mobile operators and therefore theyve decided to retract from selling the device.
This cant be good news for RIM whose shares have suffered greatly in recent months. RIM is reportedly working on the software/OS problem and hopes to get Orange to OK the device for sale again. Whether the device will be off the Orange sell list for weeks or months remains to be seen.
Across the pond, the BlackBerry Bold has still not officially been launched in the US. Hopes of getting the device launched in summer of 2008 have long since disappeared and now AT&T sources have a tentative launch date of November as per what we reported to you last month.

Fusion Voicemail Plus for BlackBerry smartphones is out of beta announced PhoneFusion. The beta version is a free visual voicemail application which can be downloaded. This application enables BlackBerry users to centralize their voicemail boxes and see the full list of messages on the right of their BlackBerry screen.
Whats more, BlackBerry users can listen to their voice mails directly from their device. Users need not be PhoneFusion customers to access Fusion Voicemail Plus v 1.0 at the fusionvoicemailplus website. This service is free and included as a standard feature in the PhoneFusion One solution.
Users can look forward to new features in the service including Sync Fusion Voicemail Plus with OS profile notifications like custom ringtones and quiet mode. Message playback through headphones and deleting multiple messages in one go are other new features.
Fusion Voicemail Plus application can be downloaded from a link received on the device on signing up. The user can change from any other voicemail number to a PhoneFusion One phone number where multiple voicemail boxes are centralized. This is accessible from the BlackBerry device.
All the user has to do is listen to the voicemail from his or her smartphone when alerted by an audible, visual or tactile signal. All the voicemail messages are listed on the screen without going to other voicemail boxes. Fusion Voicemail Plus allows the user to access his voicemail from any Web browser or the traditional phone too.
Besides being free, the service does not limit the number of messages sent to user’s phones.
Users can find Fusion Voicemail Plus in any cell phone network for Windows Mobile 5 or 6. There are plans ahead for releases compatible with Palm, Symbian, Android and LINUX mobiles apart from a J2ME version.
With PhoneFusion One features like call forwarding, voicemail, virtual attendant, fax to email, conference calling and call screening, BlackBerry users can satisfy all their communication needs with just one phone number.
