Enter Amzer Full Body Silicone Skin Jelly Case. This case solves the dilemma of so many issues you have with protecting your phone I dont know where to begin:

Finally BlackBerry users were provided with the long-awaited 4.7.0.148 patch, which could fix most of the existing problems in the Blackberry Storm. So, let’s look at some of the noticeable outcomes of the application of this patch on to the device.
Firstly, the capability to make use of full QWERTY keyboard even in portrait mode has been improvised, and the camera menu has become transparent, which has also resulted in a faster camera operation too.
However, even useless things like the new ‘Phone’ icon have been included as a part of the update, which don’t really serve any purpose. In this case, one could easily tap ‘send’ button to use phone, rather than clicking on this new icon, which replaced the older “Call Log” icon.
While you’re surfing the net, with the help of a web browser, then a green-glowing “Go” button can be seen in replace of the “Enter” button. Apart from these noticeable improvements, there are several other betterments in the performance, and the 4.7.0.148 patch has almost succeeded in taking care of the existing bugs.
As RIM and Verizon are still busy testing for any left out bugs, the chances are high that somebody or the other will discover a few at least, nevertheless the overall dissatisfaction of the Storm users has been almost taken care of. And, this surely means a whole lot of relief for RIM too.

In the next few months four new smartphones are expected to rock the market. The Palm Pre, Blackberry Storm 2, Samsung Android, and the next gen iPhone 3.0 are going to be launched this summer. There are a lot of rumors making a buzz about the competition between the four smartphones. Now the question is which one of them is going to sway the market off its feet?
Rumors suggest that the new Palm Pre is a killer competition for the current Blackberry Storm and iPhone. The Blackberry Storm has not been able to fit a physical keyboard with the touch-screen unlike other smartphones like Palm Pre. The Palm Pre is supposed to decrease the extensive use of the Stylus by introducing QWERTY in their models.
However, some sources suggest that the touch screen capabilities have been merged with the physical keyboard in Blackberry Storm 2. The Blackberry Storm 2 leaked photos have allegedly started surfacing on the internet. The only difference is that the last four buttons at the bottom on the Blackberry Storm are made as a part of the touch screen.
Palm Pre has an accelerate feature which adapts well in landscape and portrayal mode. Blackberry Storm does allow its users to use this exclusive feature.
Blackberry Storm 2 is going to be introduced in the market with 3.2 mega pixel camera instead of the much talked about 5 mega pixel cameras which has been the biggest disappointment.
Now the real question is how much does RIM feel threatened by the Palm Pre. I’m sure come launch day, RIM management will be keeping a close watch on the press and preliminary sales figures. Since day 1 at CES the Pre has been seriously hyped and has been coined as the most anticipated device of the year. Regardless of what happens, RIM shouldn’t worry at the end of the day because all this boils down to the fact that the smartphone market is expanding overall and taking market share from the regular, run of the mill cellphones.
Indeed the market trend is looking promising for the Palm Pre.

In a rather interesting turn of events, Mike Lazardis, CEO of RIM said at the recent D7 conference that and I quote: "...SurePress is here to stay." SurePress is the technology that powers the BlackBerry Storm, RIMs device designed to take on the iPhone head on. Basically it allows for a "clickable" touch screen, a feature most seem to utterly love or completely hate more seem to fall into the latter category, but overall the Storm has proven to be a fairly good seller, regardless of the buggy nature of the device. Whats odd though is that from all reports about the second generation Storm, it does not actually include the technology at all. Its possible that these reports are perhaps mistaken and they simply received prototype devices, but that seems rather unlikely at this point. Regardless, love it or hate it, its apparently here to stay.
Personally, I think its a very innovative idea, I just wish that the first device it was in had been better executed. I really believe that RIM should give customers a right to choose though, perhaps offering a SurePress and a regular touchscreen interface for their upcoming BlackBerry touchscreen devices.

According the SlashGear, their actually may be some validity to the Storms disontinuation. Verizon/RIM apparently have plans in the works to release BlackBerry Storm 2 in September, and the really big news is that Itll have wifi.
"According to a source very close to the issue, Verizon has given the go for RIM to release the BlackBerry Storm 2 in September of this year. The followup to the groundbreaking Storm that was released last year as the first touchscreen Blackberry, SlashGear has been told that the new Storm 2 addresses one of the biggest criticisms of the first smartphone and of Verizon devices in general, in that it will support WiFi."
They are very sure of their source, but Id recommend you still take this with a grain of salt. I definitely have no doubts such a device is in the works, but considering Verizons odd non-existent relationship with wi-fi in their devices, I would be quite surprised to see it implemented on this device. But that would be a good surprise, both for me and all the Verizon customers who are missing out on such a great feature.

Verizon Wireless has been busy in preparation of the launch of latest firmware update in form of 4.7.0.113 for all the Blackberry Storm users, which will fix several annoying bugs in the existing version such as incorrect functionality of “Mute” and “End” buttons, while the user try to make use of A2DP headset, ring tones being played despite the phone being set on vibration mode, white bar to displayed on the screen bug, and the presence of multi-colored dots across the entire screen.
Now, the latest 4.7.0.113 update will bring a whole world of relief to the storm users, as it will feature a full-QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode, improved rotation speed while viewing contacts, stabilized pre-loaded games, reduction in waiting time before the start of MP3 file-play, as well as continuous OTA updates even in absence of media card, via the internal media card.
The much needed volume consistency across all calls and applications will be another substantial improvement, while streaming video content will be supported even for the URLs containing excess of 512 characters.
What’s more, there’ll be language support for Arabic, along with comprehensive support for English, Italian, French, Spanish as well as German in the East Asia language pack. Even the search feature will be improvised as an additional “GO” button will be available in the browser for quick search. There will be addition of a Phone icon was to the home screen as well.
So the 4.7.0.113 will surely be appreciated with both-hands by all Blackberry Storm users, and it is expected to be released within a month or so.

Well, Mothers Day is just a few short weeks away, and if your mother has been trying to catch up with the latest technology curve, a new phone can be a great way to do it. But which one should you buy for her? So today, Im going to try to offer you a little advice on picking out a touch screen device for good ol Ma. To help you narrow it down, Im going to be comparing three of the most popular and mainstream devices that your mother may already have heard of: the iPhone 3G, the T-Mobile G1, and the BlackBerry Storm.
iPhone 3G - Well, if youre looking for a stylish phone, this is the one to look for, combining great colors and a very sleek look. This phone is great if your mum wants great multimedia and an iPod like device tagged along with the best applications around and a very rich web browsing experience. If your mom wants to do a bunch of e-mail and text messaging, she may want to look elsewhere due the cramped keyboard. So if you want a fun, hip device, this is a great choice. Unfortunately, this great platform is only available on AT&T, and coverage can be very spotty.
BlackBerry Storm - Want something a bit more serious for mother but still has some of the touchscreen fun? The Storm is a good pick. It combines an interesting touchscreen keyboard with the typical BlackBerry features including unparallelled e-mail and business capabilities. Unfortunately, the browser is still a bit weak and you may want to have mom try the keyboard first, as it is typically a love/hate relationship that most people cant get over. Its only available on Verizon, widely regarded as the best wireless carrier.
T-Mobile G1 - Dont really know what to get? Than this is a great choice. This phone may not have the rich multimedia experience of the iPhone or the business touches of the Storm, but it is a jack of all trades. It currently isnt a full touchscreen device, since you cant type on the screen yet, but the slide out keyboard may prove to be more appealing to some moms than the touch screen varieties. While it may not have the power and apps of the iPhone or the serious features of BlackBerry, it offers a great all around package that can do almost almost anything well. The phone is obviously only available on the T-Mobile carrier, which is pretty decent as far as quality/coverage goes.
Need some more help? Well, talk to your mom. This phone is likely going to be quite an investment or gift, so make sure you get here something she wants. Even better, take her to the store and have her try them out. Also, you would do well by mom to make sure she is going to have coverage in the spots she frequents, so look up coverage maps for her area to make sure she stays happy and can get a hold of you when she needs to.

Well, it hasnt been long since that last reported upcoming Storm patch, but apparently we already have another one on the lineup. According to BGR, patch 4.7.0.141 could be released as early as well... today. But that seems pretty likely considering that it is already in the mid-afternoon. Like most of the news today, it could just be another case of the rumor mill running rampant. Regardless, BGR claims the source is reputable and I trust them to a reasonable extent.
Also, according to Crackberry, Telus Mobility in Canada has patch 4.7.0.122 available now for their Storm...
Alright, is anyone else just finding this ridiculous at this point?
This device has problems, indeed, and it needs some patches. For every patch that comes out, something else seems to get buggy, and every single carrier seems to be using a different version of the patch, and to keep up, you need to hack your phone and install firmware updates that can potential turn it into a useless block just so you can make the phone a bit more usable. Carriers need to be removed from patch distribution entirely, this whole thing has become a gigantic mess. To top it off, no one even makes it real clear what is being fixed, only the general files that have been changed, so no one really has much idea what is going on.
We need transparency here. RIM themselves should distribute OS changes and patches internationally. If the carriers want to distribute extras, thats fine, but do it separately, youre only serving to slowdown the patching process to customers. If you the carrier continue this route, I wish you luck on selling future BlackBerry devices to continually frustrated consumers who have to wait months to get a cohesive, functional patch for a device that wasnt even ready to be released in the first place.
