The Motorola Droid just came out and I’ve been played with it. Before you read any further let me tell you that I am a Droid user. Till today I didn’t realize just how cool my droid is and just how easy it is to use.

So, while I am on assignment to review the iPhone 3G which has some nice features, don’t get me wrong if I had to pick between the two phones, I would still go for the Motorola Droid. Reasons are mentioned below...

1. The OS, It’s not just a cool phone that uses Android, initially developed by Google and then later by the Open Handset Alliance, is a mobile operating system that runs on the Linux kernal and is geared to maximize performance for advanced web services, email, social network and entertainment. Android OS is really easy to use and that’s what makes it a great phone. It’s all common sense and once you turn on your Droid, no user manual is needed. All the icons and setting make sense. Imagine that! A phone that’s easy to use. 2. Motorola is just slightly thicker than an iPhone 3G and thinnest QWERTY slider keyboard, which is pretty usable and has a soft-touch rubberized finish, I’ve ever seen and am happy to have a device like the droid. 3. The Droid features high-speed 3G network and Wi-Fi support via Verizon, along with support for multimedia messaging, text messaging, and instant messaging via Google Talk and email support. Other handy features include voice-activated search and commands and web browser.

It just looks better than the iPhone 3G and this might seem like a superficial reason to pick the Motorola droid over the iPhone. The Motorola droid design is impressive and good looking.

So, I know that some people say, you cant have everything in life, but surely there must be some very attractive engineer out there who can give us everything in a few square inches of Mobile Phone.

I thought it would be interesting comparision between Motorola Droid and iPhone. While the Droid is more of the everyman model and the iPhone being the powerful executive model, they still share a lot in common and the price difference with a good contract is not that high; still some say the Droid wins over its bigger brother.

To summarize for those who arent adept at reading specs. The Motorola Droid has a better camera and has a better battery life. It has also more memory, better connectivity, a bit more power and a bigger screen. Motorola Droid delivers full QWERTY keyboard with 5-way navigation key and support up to 32GB microSD expandable memory while iPhone doesnt have memory card slot.

In general, we can say that Motorola Droid is an excellent Smartphone with many of the features that a customer would expect.
