Looking for a great way to charge up you Treo Pro at home or in the office or perhaps both? The Palm OEM Cradle for the Treo Pro provides a fantastic cradle in a very small package.
I must say when I traditionally look at cradles my expectations are pretty low, but I was pretty blown away by this cradle. It ditches quite a few of the standard features; it has no special battery compartment, fancy lights or anything like that. You simply plug in your Micro USB cable into the base and then slide in your phone, of course granting you both synchronization with a computer and/or charging as well. What it does best is just hold the phone, it provides an excellent grip on the device in multiple ways. Not only is it extremely well molded to the Treo Pro, it also physically grips your desk using suction for a very stable user experience, making sure your phone doesnt tumble to the ground every time you try to use it or knock it around a bit.
Its not completely perfect though, it does block the microphone at the bottom as well as the headphone jack, which may muffle speakerphone calls during use as well as prohibit the use of headphones. But really, if youre using a cradle, you probably have it standing up for a reason and probably want to hear the sound normally.
Whats also great is that its extremely small, and cable aside, extremely portable, it can easily fit into your briefcase or bag on the go, so you always have your cradle available- charger or not.
This is a fantastic cradle that I would personally recommend to any Treo Pro owner who doesnt already have one of these. Its just a shame that Palm doesnt make these for other companies.

Today Im going to take a look at five different must-have accessories that are selling well on Fommy.com. These are all great for any Palm Treo Pro fan who is looking for convience, utility and survivability.
Mugen Power 3600mAh Lithium Ion Extended Battery with Black Battery Door - A great accessory for any mobile device is an extended battery. This device provides significantly more power than the 1500mAh battery that comes packaged with the Pro. To put it in perspective, this will increase the standby time of your phone from 250 hours to a whopping 600, or 25 days! This is a great purchase if you find yourself having to recharge way too often. The only downside is the battery is much larger than the standard one and will require a new door comes with the battery of course; so it will make the phone a bit wider and make it incompatible with many unstretchable cases.
Motorola Micro-USB Right Angle Charger Adapter Cable - Great for any phone, this is a small extension cable for the Micro-USB charing port; it may seem like an odd purchase but many prefer the angled charging cables over the straight ones for comfort and portability. Either way, it wont hurt your waller much for a little convenience.
Amzer Silicone Skin Jelly Case - Simple, yet effective. Takes about two seconds to put on your phone and will increase its survivability immensely. In addition to providing your phone with a shock resistant layer, it makes the phone much easier to grip and hold. Also, unlike many hard cases, this silicone case still makes using all the buttons on your phone easy.
Amzer Micro USB Car Charger - Probably the number one must-have accessory for any mobile device, its simple, it gets the job done and its shape makes it easy to use in even the most cramped vehicle. If you dont buy an extended battery you should definitely have one of these.
Case-Mate Universal Privacy Screen Protector - If you dont want a scratched up mess of a screen, you should always have a screen protector; theyre cheap and will drastically improve the lifespan and appearance of your phones screen as well as keep it easy to clean. This one has the added great benefit of giving your phone some privacy from others prying eyes. Its quite simple, as long as youre looking at the device straight on it looks normal; but at an angle, the screen becomes dark and obscured. This is great for anyone who is looking for protection and privacy while browsing or looking at senstive files.

Of the biggest note of new releases from Sprint, the Treo Pro is n0w available effective yesterday. Fortunately, it managed to escape another push back, even if it did lag behind altell a bit. While, it may not be the Pre, it looks to be strong enough to stand on its own in the market. I just hope it wont fail simply because of everyone looking to the horizon for hotter, upcoming products. Regardless, for Palm lovers still carrying around their aging Treos, it should prove to be a worthwhile upgrade, even if it has a pretty hefty price tag at $200 after the usual stuff.
The Rumor 2 will probably do fairly well considering the popularity of its predecessor model being used with the teenage croud, even if it isnt a significant upgrade to the original unit. At a pretty low price point of $50, it should not have much trouble enticing customers.
Last, but not least is the Stature, a flip phone with a lot of features. While it supports most modern features, it lacks any kind of real keyboard which makes it lose a lot of points even if it does have things like e-mail, browsing and GPS. And even if it did feature a keyboard, it still loses points for a fairly poor browser and no wi-fi or 3g. Its not a bad, compact phone, but most people have come to expect a little more. With the same price tag as the new Treo, its definitely a tough sell.

Sprints Treo Pro has been changing its release dates and keeping our heads spinning. Heres a look at some images courtesy of BGR to let you know that the device is out there and coming March 15 to a Sprint store near you. Now, the only real question is that are you going to jump on this device or are you going to wait for the Palm Pre tentatively set to launch soon as per details given here.

If you are in one of the areas still maintained by Alltel, IE you can go to their website and enter your zip code and not get redirected to Verizon Wireless their new owner, you can get the new Palm Treo for $199 after discounts and the usual contracts. Sprint must be pretty steamed about this considering they just announced their release date yesterday. Unfortunately, for most of us, we will still have to wait until the 15th to get our hands on Palms newest device; but this is a nice easter egg for Alltels true remaining customers.

Well, we finally have some more information about the Treo Pro, while its no Palm Pre, its a good start. At the moment we only have confirmed news from Sprint, but hopefully this device will see some support from other carriers as well in the near future.
"Treo Pro will be available through all Sprint retail channels, including www.sprint.com/treopro, 1-800-SPRINT1 and Sprint retail stores, for $199.99 with a two-year subscriber agreement after a $100 instant rebate and $100 mail-in rebate, with an Everything plan with data or a $30 per month or higher data add-on. It also will be available through the Palm Store www.palm.com/store and Palm’s B2B sales organization beginning March 16."
Read full press release here.
This device packs a lot of features into it, including wi-fi and 3G, but I do have to worry if Palm might be competing with itself with the hotly anticipated Pre coming down the line, but on the other hand, if this device is as good as it sounds it could actually generate some more buzz for the struggling Palm. Look for it on shelves on March 15th.
