Fommy Product Review:
Overview: The EGO Ice Waterproof sound case is a portable sound system for your iPod products that provide great proection, sound and durability.
Durability: This thing is built by OtterBox and it shows, every part of it is built tough and strong. The hard plastic case should take on any punishment you can give it, and it doesn't mind a little water either, as long as you don't submerge it (it's waterproof, not watertight). It should be great for camping, hiking, or just an afternoon by the water.
Design/Functionality: Well, this portable speaker is extremely flexible. It accomodates a wide range of Apple products (basically all the newer wheel models) and includes varying adapters to easily use each one in the case. It has an attachable shower to place around your shower head, an attachable strap for whatever you want to attach it to, and last, a permant fold out adjustable stand. The only problem is that for a portable case, it is fairly heavy and bulky and doesn't have any way to really compact itself, so you'll have to deal with some size issues if you want to lug it around a lot with limited cargo space.
It runs off of 4 AA batteries and boasts 30 hours of play time off of them. Unfortunately, that is the only power method available, but due to it's waterproof nature it's pretty obvious as to why that is.
The sound quality is pretty good and has pseudo-bass speakers as well, but I do wish it's range of audio levels was better, but overall the audio quality was great.
Conclusion: This is a great set of durable portable speakers, but I think they are a bit too bulky, It makes up for it a bit in flexibility though.
