Fommy Product Review:

Overview: OtterBox, based in Colorado has long been known for making great cases for devices, whether they be protecting notebooks in a rain forest or protecting your phone at a construction site. Their products are built though, and the Armor Series cases live up to that legacy by providing excellent protection that can stand up to the rigors of your lifestyle.

Durability: Not much here except heavy duty plastic and some rubber bits. The shell is very resilient and didnt show any damage from the typical wear and tear phones and cases are likely to experience. The only piece that seemed even the slightest bit flimsy was the belt clip; being made entirely out of plastic, the chance of it failing at some point seems pretty significant, and its not that thick to begin with. The screen cover didnt rip or break off even with some heavy pushing, so it should last unless pierced with something sharp and heavy.

Design/Functionality: The case is a simple hinged design that provides full protection for your device, whether it be dust and sand or falls. You simply slide the device into the case and then close it and then shut the latch. Once enclosed, the device will be held firmly in place, preventing it from damage while being moved around or jostled.

The case does have a couple of problems though, it does hinder the use of the device a bit and almost all the ports will be blocked, making it a poor choice if you wish to charge while using it. In addition the rubber bits could be molded a bit better for usability; as they require a bit more force than originally required. The big issue is well, its big. Youre probably increasing the size of the device about half an inch in every direction, which can add up to quite a lot. The design isnt what I would consider stylish either.

The belt clip could use some work as well, its nice that its removable, but it seems almost pointless if you cant rotate it. It has a lanyard attachment as well, but the device is so large, anywhere you attach the device to likely wont be very comfortable due to its size.

Conclusion: If youre looking for great protection but dont mind size or looks, this is a good choice.
