Fommy Product Review:
Overview: Body Glove has been around for over 50 years, and while they started out making wetsuits they have ventured forth into other areas; providing excellent products in swimming, running and now mobile phone protection. This Body Glove Vertical Landmark Universal Protection Case provides excellent protection and usability.
Durability: The durability overall is fairly good considering the faux leather material and low price point. The material is fairly soft, which means it's a great shock absorber and does well against blunt force, but it can but cut and turn with a sharp blow. It uses a magnetic "buckle" so that can't really wear out, and the only other problems these kind of cases typically have is the belt clip. But that's also wrapped in the material, which means it's fortified significantly, and it feels like it's made out of metal anyways, so it should last you a long time.
Design/Functionality: First, I just wanted to say, for a budget case, this one looks very nice with the professional stitching and leather look, so it's great in just that respect. But the question is: is it really universal? Overall, it accommodates more devices than most other "Universal" cases, but the main problem it has is height. Quite simply, if the phone is any taller than say an iPhone (like a G1), the magnetic flap won't close, making the case fairly useless. Otherwise, the dimensions should accommodate almost all modern phones produced. The sides do stretch a fair bit, so even wide phones can fit.
Also, the magnetic flap is very handy; it holds very well, but isn't a pain to open at the same time. As usual with a lot of cases the problem is the belt clip, I like the fact that it looks great, but it has a very limited rotating arc (only 90 degree with each way). This is something that could definitely be improved.
Conclusion: Overall, this case looks fantastic and is a breeze to use, but it could use some minor improvements on the belt clip and some extra height to accommodate more devices.
