A vehicle charger is an extremely popular accessory, but many are unnecessarily large or complicated. Palm goes back to basics with an innovative redesign of this must have peripheral with the Palm Vehicle Power Adapter.

Unlike most vehicle adapters, this one doesn't have a big bulb on it or a long wound cord, instead it just has a USB drive inside the back of it where you just plug in the included USB cable and then plug it into your device. The unit, even with the cable is extremely compact and easy to store in your vehicle and when you're not using it, you can just unplug the USB cable and leave the very low profile adapter still in place for easy future access, it's a great twist on a classic design.

My only substantial issue with this device is that the charger seems tailored to only fit the included USB cable, odd considering how universal the format is. I can only assume this is to regulate what voltage devices use it, but still I wish such a measure wasn't necessary and removing it would make this a much more versatile piece of gadgetry. Additionally, you may have to push the plug in pretty hard into the wall socket, at least I did in my tests, but you'll know when it's working when the little light (normally hidden) comes on.

Overall, this is a great, very compact charger.
